I have just bought a liver/red chestnut mare and Im not sure of a name or a colour to go with her!
she is an arab X (she has a really arabey face) and she has 2 long white sockes and one shorter one as well as a blaze/star. I think she would go with gold and light blue but its really hard to find things in those colours!
Also, with the names, her name at the moment is Zara (Bellsview Zahara) and i think she would suit an indian/african name. at the moment my list is--- Breeza
Tiger Lily
Spice
Melody
and i would like something to do with 'wish' ( because as soon as i saw her i wished on an eyelash-my wish was that we could get her)
that doesnt really make sense but oh well!!!
THANKYOU-I KNOW ITS A HARD ONE!
What colour would go with my chestnut mare?
Wish On An Eyelash
Top Of The Wishlist
as for colours - hunter green, navy blue or maroon, light blue, pale green, pale pink
emerald green with pale green trim
Reply:Name wise, I like to get to know a horse before naming as it should suit their personality.
Colours that suit: green is very good - we have a chestnut tb colt who is a very deep chestnut and goes positivly orange in the winter and he looks stunning in a deep green, forest or hunter type shades. The gold would look good, but I would think a dark blue would be better. We mix the green and gold as it looks really good and suits most colours of horse.
Reply:Sorrels, bays and all reddish colored horses look beautiful in any shade of blue or green and white. Try to stay away from reds, oranges, yellows, purples and metallics (gold silver adn bronze) because they can fool the eye into thinking the coat is very orange brassy and dull. For the show ring your best bet would be some form of teal. Its dark enough to be classy but with her coat will catch the judges eye and it doesn't show dirt (a huge factor in horsecare lol). As far as her name goes... to be completely honest, its never a good idea to change a horses name. They are VERY VERY intelligent animals and that is something that is burnt into their memory from an early age. It's something that they understand and respond to usually with no questions asked. If you change it its like trying to change a 2 year old childs name out of the blue.. they dont understand what you're doing and don't know what your reasoning is... so it takes them a long time to put everything back in perspective and undersand that it is them you're talking to... Just like if you just for some reason start calling your mom some made up name... she's gonna be clueless... hahah... Let her keep her name as her identity... its something she's established long before she established a relationship with you.... and if she ever doubts her trust in you... her name is a reassurance that she can trust you...
Reply:pink ! definatelyy
Reply:Odds are that your initial attempts at braiding will not be attractive. It's better to show with a natural mane than messy braids. I would just groom the mane well, make sure it lays over neatly, and spend some time practicing at home.
The way I was taught involves the use of yarn to secure the braids. some people can get a mane to turn out using rubber bands, but I've never been able to.
Pull the horse's mane so that it is short and even. Divide the mane into small sections (larger sections will get pulled more if the horse reaches for a hay bag or stretches down for free walking). If the horse has a tough to control mane, you can give yourself extra grip by dampening it with a stiff brush dipped in water. Some will also use hair gel, but in my experience that will collect dust
Braid each section tightly in a normal braid. Part way down each, introduce a section of yarn the color of your horse's mane. Hold the yarn at the midpoint, pass it underneath the braid, and introduce each half into a section of the braid. Continue braiding to the tip of the mane and tie the yarn off.
Repeat with all sections.
Now you go back and make your buttons. For this you will need a plastic blunt ended needle (forget what they're called). Thread your yarn through the needle, and use it to double the braid underneath itself right at the crest. Pull the yarn up through, wrap the yarn around the braid, and tie a tight square knot.
Repeat until finished
Reply:Here are some colors that would go well with your horse:
Baby Blue
Red
Navy Blue
Hunter Green
Lime Green
Royal Blue
Yellow
Black
White
My favorite name:
Tiger Lily (Lily for short)
and Spice
Reply:Purple or green would be nice.
Reply:I like the name Spice - or on the spice theme maybe saffron or saffy for short or even just Amber?
Anyway I have 2 liver chestnut mares, both of which look stunning in their dark green saddle cloths.
As for the name with wishes in it - how about
"If wishes were kisses"
Good luck with your new mare and have many happy years together!
Reply:yes i agree with what someone above me said
green looks very good on chestnuts
my boy is no exception
a dark blue is good as well, and black goes well with almost any colour
except black
and i like the name spice :D
sorry i'm pretty crappy at thinking up names
Reply:I always have to look at an animal before thinking of a name for it. I think the name "Zara" is really pretty. My boy's orriginal name was "Kalik" when I got him as a colt but I didn't like that so changed it to Sundance Dreammings ("Dreamer"). "Sundance" because of his gorgeous copper/red color and "Dreammings" because it was a dream come true to get my first horse. Our other boy was 12 when we got him from the rescue and named "Bovine". Rather than change the name since he does respond to it somewhat, we just call him "Bo" and that name fits him.
As far as colors, I've got a sorrel gelding that's copper in his summer coat and deep red in the winter coat. His halter/leadrope/blanket are all royal blue and they look absolutly gorgeous on him. His tack is black with hunter green trim, beautiful! I've found that darker colors work better for chestnuts and lighter for bays/black. Never liked the pastel colors on any horse. We've got a red halter/leadrope for our bay tobiano with reddish leather tack and it looks really good on him. Gold %26amp; blue sounds like it'd be gorgeous on your liver mare.
Reply:id stick with zara, i love that name especialy on an araby chestnut.
Reply:I think any type of blue or green would look nice...she could probably even pull off a bright orange or any other bright colour as well.
Reply:Black always looks good and classic on a chestnut. So does white if you can manage to keep it clean.
Why not just call her Wish or Lucky Lash ?
Reply:I'm not suggesting a name as I have heard its bad luck to do that and then my friend changed her horses name and he nearly died because his Laminitus was so bad.
As for colors, dark blue or hunter green.
Reply:I like dark rich coors. try a dark blue, red, or green, that way it wont get as dirty and will still be classy!!
Reply:I think that blue always suits chestnuts.
Seeing as its an exotic horse (from the sound of it) try a rich, possibly royalish blue
Im sure it will be lovely.
Reply:green is always a great way to go. a really nice rich emerald green would look gorge with the colour and green is quite easy to come by with horse equipment!!!!! if u want to change her full name you could call her "top of the Wish List" (or something similar) and call her Wish round the stable!!!!
Reply:Royal blue always works on chestnuts, green also works on certain shades, and white and black are just classics, you can never fail with them. And I like the name Zara.
Reply:well i reackon navy??????? or light blue ive got a horse to shes a bay she wears navy and black!!!!!!!!!
Reply:blue is a good color... red actually looks great on them (my friend has a chesnut half arab/saddlebred) just about any color looks good on them..
Reply:from having a chestnut Arab, you either want nice lite colors. but personally, id go for a rich color.
Burgundy and gold... Dark blue and gold.
my personal choice would be....rich red ( it Will look amazing) with gold maybe add a light cream to blend it down a bit.
Also for a name maybe melody's wish. if not something elegant, like Arabs are!!
Good luck with what ever you choose and your horse!

For UK people do you hear this rhyme around you on bonfire nights?
"A penny loaf to feed the Pope
A farthing o' cheese to choke him.
A pint of beer to rinse it down.
A ****** of sticks to burn him.
Burn him in a tub of tar.
Burn him like a blazing star.
Burn his body from his head.
Then we'll say ol' Pope is dead.
Hip hip hoorah!
Hip hip hoorah hoorah! "
Is it banned or something? I learnt it last year amd some of my mates are catholic and they enjoy it more than anybody else! Pretty funny

Somebody PLEASE tell me what is so special about this Keyshia Cole chick? I just don't understand the hype!
I mean, I've heard her sing, but I wasn't impressed. And that song "Love", why is she yodeling? She said herself on 'Access Granted' that she can't dance, and she's just doesn't seem like this blazing star that some people are trying to hype her up to be. Maybe, I'm being too critical. I ain't trying to hate on her, but I'm confused. I just don't get all the hoopla over her. Seems like another "Ashanti" scheme to me where other stars try to hype up their new acts and force feed us to accept them while fattening their pockets. Somebody PLEASE enlighten me on what is supposed to make this girl any different than the other female artists that have come out with one song or album and then just fell off?
Somebody PLEASE tell me what is so special about this Keyshia Cole chick? I just don't understand the hype!
If you listen to her CD, it's all about what she went through and went she had to do to get through it all. Like the song "LOVE", girls listen to it and feel what she's feeling because maybe they're feeling the same way she's feeling. When she sings she don't want to sound like everybody else. She has her own style. In July on BET, it 's series all about her. I know her ex-boyfriend put her through some **** and her mom was a drug addict and prostitute. Maybe you should watch it and see why everybody likes her.
Reply:I think she's just impersonating Faith Evans! Does good to her!
Reply:What part of that is not hating on her DAMN! I don't even know who you are hating on. Who is this chick? I guess there isn't that much hoopla, I don't even know who she is.
Reply:I have listened to her entire cd several times and I still think that her music sucks
Reply:Yeah Im not feeling her either. But if she's on the radio I'll tolerate it.
Reply:I think she's cool as hell. And she is very unique. I love her song "Love". She is very talented.
Reply:she has an xtremly unqie voice and i think she's a great singer
Reply:don't hate on the girl because she can sing so give her props, me myself i love that song, so i can't say i see anything wrong with it.let me see you try to belt out a note and hold it like that.

"Remember, remember, the 5th of November
The Gunpowder Treason and plot;
I know of no reason why Gunpowder Treason
Should ever be forgot.
Guy Fawkes, Guy Fawkes,
'Twas his intent.
To blow up the King and the Parliament.
Three score barrels of powder below.
Poor old England to overthrow.
By God's providence he was catch'd,
With a dark lantern and burning match
Holloa boys, Holloa boys, let the bells ring
Holloa boys, Holloa boys, God save the King!
Hip hip Hoorah!
Hip hip Hoorah!

Guy Fawkes, as you probably read, was an old terrorist who conspired to load gunpowder in the Parliament building on November 5 (which is now Guy Fawkes Day). As England is too old to remember when the country was founded, they celebrate Guy Fawkes Day as if it were an independence day.
This is a schoolyard rhyme to help remember the treason of Guy. At the time, Parliament was still a democratic institution, so Guy wasn't anything like V.
"Three score barrels of powder" is 60 barrels. "Holloa" (either "Hello" or "Holler") and "Hip hip hurrah" are just exclamations. A penny loaf, a farthing (5 cents) cheese, and a pint of beer are his last meals. A f-got is an old term for a bundle of sticks for lighting a fire with. It generally was used when burning people at the stake, although you can certainly call fireplace wood a f-got. (Yes, it is spelled the same as the modern derogatory term. Incidentally, in the early 20th century , f-g meant a cigarette.)
So they want to burn Fawkes at the stake as punishment. They call him "Pope" because Fawkes was part of a Roman Catholic group that disagreed with the English Anglicans, which were trying to be independent from Rome. (Instead of being burned at the stake, he was hanged, drawn, and quartered, which was the punishment for treason.)
A paraphrase: "Remember November 5th, and the Gunpowder Plot. I think that this treason should never be forgotten. Guy Fawkes intended to blow up King James I and the members of Parliament. He had gotten sixty barrels of gunpowder to overthrow the English government. By God's grace, he was captured in the dark. Let us celebrate and cheer! Give him a cheap last meal for him to choke on, while we burn him at the stake. After he burns, we can say that the Catholics do not control England any more."
Reply:Remember Guy Fawkes’ plot to blow up Parliament with gunpowder on November 5!
He intended to blow up the king and Parliament, using sixty (three times twenty) barrels of gunpower in a cellar, to overthrow the government of England.
With God’s help, he was caught with a dark lantern (a kind of pre-electricity flashlight) and a lighted match.
Yay!
Down with the Pope! Give him one last meal, then kill him!
(It’s funny that Yahoo! Answers put asterisks in here. A “f@gg0t” of sticks is nothing more than a bundle of sticks. There’s nothing profame about it.)
If there are “old words” other than “score,” “dark lantern,” and “f@gg0t” that you’d like explained, please edit your question.
Reply:Yup. See first Answer. That about sums it up.

What movie studios need to learn about Hi-DEF (Blu-Ray)?
I am a proponent of high definition in general and Blu-Ray in particular (Because it is better technology than HD-DVD, even though it is more expensive).
What movie studios need to learn is which movies to offer. Hi-Definition favors the action and heavy special effects movies, not comedies or dramas.
How many people are going to spend the extra cash over a DVD to get National Lampoon's Van Wilder, or Blazing Saddles , or Badder Santa: Unrated in High Definition?
What is the best selling high definition disc?-It's 300 on Blue Ray.
What movies would you like to see on Blu-Ray?
Mine include: Spiderman 1-3, Star Wars 1-6, Lord of the Rings 1-3, Independence Day, Cars, The Matrix, Sin City, Star Trek:First Contact, X-Men 1%26amp;2
What movie studios need to learn about Hi-DEF (Blu-Ray)?
Blu ray and HD DVD are both OK formats, but you will never get them to dominate the market unless:
Dual format players that do EVERYTHING discrete one do.
Allow the use of component video at the highest resolutions.
Allow for discrete analog outputs for all formats.
Until that happens the high end community will not stand behind one or the other.

Reply:I agree with flapjack. This dual format war is benefiting no one, and is only hurting the migration to HD.
At this rate, there is a real possibility that by the time the mass market has upgraded to HDTV, there will be a newer, better technology on the market that causes them to leapfrog HD-DVD/Blu-Ray entirely!

Can you please discuss my poem and critique it again?
As I Lay
Lying in the grass at night
So comforting
The stars are blazing
It was like a theatre
Fierce silver stars
With a blue backdrop
Misty clouds move slowly
Against the blue sky
Leaves move calmly
As I gaze at the beautiful scenery
The gentle breeze across my face comforts me
As I lay
Can you please discuss my poem and critique it again?
Your poem starts out "at night" then continues with stars and then shifts into a blue backdrop- skies at night are black, you don't see clouds at night. Sorry if this sounds critical but you are asking us to critique it. Keep trying though.
Reply:Pretty picture. What is the is the point of the poem other than comfort and calm? A deeper meaning can be accomplished by giving a scenario that needs to be relieved by the poem so far. It could stand as it is but it leaves much unsaid.
The rhythm is precarious at best. Stars are fierce for what reason? How is it LIKE a theater [maybe as?]? The poem is not bad, just needs tweaking. Try again.
Reply:Seems like a beginners poem. Lots of obvious imagery and atmosphere. Try to use shakespeare languages, it makes things more fun.
Reply:My suggestion, after you go over all your critiques reveiws. That is what a good poet does. go over your poem again. You have passion, use it! feel it! be a part of it! I have faith that the next time you write this it will be one of your best, Use your passion!!!!!!! Hope to Read Your Book someday
Reply:Hello,
There are some words and lines you should consider cutting or rewriting to strengthen this:
L2: “So comforting”: Consider cutting this. It tells the reader something rather than allowing them to experience comfort. Perhaps replace this with something about the feeling of the grass, or another aspect of the night that you would find comforting (i.e., describe the texture and feel of the grass perhaps) let the reader infer from that the comfort you are expressing.
L3: “are blazing”: “Consider dropping the gerund “-ing” and make it more immediate for the reader (i.e., The stars blaze).
L4: “It was”: (You may find it more useful to stay in the present tense and keep the scene more active for your reader). Consider cutting It was and allow the simile to play between the lines.
L5: I agree with Ronnie here, fierce seems like the wrong adjective here. Something else that shows intensity or brightness perhaps. I like silver stars because of the Hollywood connection—it’s a nice subtle play on the idea.
L6: Would it be “blue” at night?
L7: This line is a bit problematic for me. Could you see the clouds at night? Misty isn’t that exciting of a cloud descriptor if you could see them. Also, “move slowly” gets a little weighed down by the adverb and move isn’t that evocative (type drift or float into an online thesaurus and look for different options).
L8: Assuming the sky is blue you don’t need to have this line at all. You already described the color of the sky in L6 (blue backdrop—even if you change the color in L6 this line will still be unnecessary for that reason).
L9: Again with the “move”, consider going to an online thesaurus and typing in something like rustle. It is unlikely you would see the movement of leaves at night but you would likely hear them. In any even “move calmly” should be cut.
L10: Cut the line. Again telling rather than showing let the reader be pulled into the mood. Don’t explain the moment to them.
L11: Consider cutting “comfort me” the mood will carry without the explanation of what the breeze is doing.
I hope this critique will be helpful to you. If it isn’t please ignore it. I wish you well on your future revisions.
Reply:Frankly, this is 4th grade level English. Well, except that part where you called the stars fierce. What a strange adjective. You have a gentle scene that's comforting to you ... and the stars are fierce. Huh?
Reply:AS I Lay........... is beautiful......... what actually comforts u ....u know.......... but why were u uncomfortable...... why was life without comfort..... try to put that thing in this poem..... rest your words are o.k...... u dont measure a poem with time scheme..... stars were fierce and they soothed you, there isn't any wrong thing in it.... just add the part which i mentioned.... it will add to it's beauty........ it is beautiful but should be extended.......
Reply:My main comment is about the change from deep night to blue sky. You can do this if you introduce it as a different day or time and set it off. If the last line is the central meaning...then the central meaning needs work.
Reply:hey this a great start man
the one thing I would suggest is using less obvious metaphors. like substitue "againt the blue sky" for "against atmoshpere." make it more like your line "fierce silver stars," that's a good line.
nice work
Reply:You're doing great by writing about things we can see and feel.
Again, I suggest punctuation.
Just a couple of verb tense issues. . .
"The stars are blazing
It was like . . ."
Go through and select either present or past tense with your verbs.
Good luck with the school, and thanks for posting your poems.

Real Death Star Could Strike Earth - From Today's Yahoo News. Is this spoke in the Book of Ezekiel?
A beautiful pinwheel in space might one day blast Earth with death rays, scientists now report
Unlike the moon-sized Death Star from Star Wars, which has to get close to a planet to blast it, this blazing spiral has the potential to burn worlds from thousands of light-years away.
"I used to appreciate this spiral just for its beautiful form, but now I can't help a twinge of feeling that it is uncannily like looking down a rifle barrel," said researcher Peter Tuthill, an astronomer at the University of Sydney.
The fiery pinwheel in space in question has at its heart a pair of hot, luminous stars locked in orbit ..
Do you think this is the Bible Wheel?-Ezekiel had a vision of the Sovereign Lord, not walking, but riding upon a lofty chariot. At this time, he was told to lie on his side 390 days (Ezk. 1-4). Just the wheels alone, of this chariot, were said to be "high and awesome".
Revelation 18-Babylon Is Fallen
After these things I saw another angel coming down from heaven?

I truely feel the Lord will come long before this thing is a danger to the Earth. In our Generation will the Lord come. Are you ready?

Reply:That sounds just like a rifle barrel to me! Get my shotgun Ma!
Reply:I don't believe that the answer will be apparent until after the fact. Zeke and John were writing allegories and while we can guess, that's is all it will be and it doesn't make a whit of difference if we understand or not.

Reply:It's merely a reference to some cosmic event. Some scientists theorize it was a passing comet or a supernova. Others claim it was an alien spaceship. And some claim it's merely a reference to the sun passing through the zodiac based on some ancient 390 day annual calendar.
Reply:Well I don't suggest you start reading any books on the intergalactic threats to planet Earth then. There's millions, every day. We were almost destroyed in 2004 by a comet, which is coming back in a few years at an even closer orbit. The list of space oddities that could destroy this planet is a long list. Yet we are still here 5 billion years later.
Reply:interesting, have any more info on this phenomenon?
Reply:I believe there are many stars out in the galaxy that have the potential of burning a hole through our planet. Not to sound like a pessimist but there are more than one potential hazard we face. This is just one of them.

What are your thoughts on these headlines, the second of which immediately follows the first?
You see the following blazing headline:
"TENSIONS ARISE AS US AND IRAN CLASH IN INTERNATIONAL WATERS"
immediately followed by:
"Who is Hollywood's most Likable Star?"
What are your thoughts? What does this say about North American and / or European society?
What are your thoughts on these headlines, the second of which immediately follows the first?
Well, the MOST I can say ~ and this is a shame ~ is that the important stuff came before the silly hollywood shiz. It seems a step up from some sources that would have put the celebrity shenanigans before *real* news.
Reply:I believe it says that Americans have an interest in more than just one topic. I'm surprised the second headline wasn't followed by, "Scientists Report Sasquatch Spotted In Northern Oregon Woods." And that followed by, "U.S. And China Headed For Trade Confrontation."

Ok, in answer to the question...something for everyone. They want to please the people who just read for entertainment, and those of a more serious mind. It might also be an attempt to distract the public from the possibility of another war.

What should my future horse's show name be?
I want to name him either Joe or Joey in memory of another horse. I would like a tall bay thoroughbred with a star, stripe, snip or blaze on his face and any foot markings. What do you think his show name should be? I just like to think about the future :)
What should my future horse's show name be?
Not An Average Joe. then you can have the barn name be joe or joey.

'Not just a memory'
Reply:Big Joe Bay. Joe's Bay Memory. Whatever you name your next horse, do not push him to be your Joe. He never will be. You can never replace a horse, dog or any animal with another. You can however, have a new horse instead and let it help fill the hole in your heart left by your Joe.
You seem to be wanting your Joe back and that just can't happen. I'd start fresh with a new horse and not expect him to fill Joe's shoes. How about Tiger Bay? San Francisco Bay?
Montego Bay?
Don't foget Joe, just let him be a memory all his own and maybe not force another horse to be a part of it. Don't make Joe share his memory with ANY horse.
Best wishes when it's time for a new horse.

Why don't lots of stars show up in pictures from space?
Whenever I see pictures of taken by astronauts in the space shuttle or from satellites, I expect to see a blaze of stars. Instead, I only see nearby objects.
Why don't lots of stars show up in pictures from space?
Cameras have a much smaller dynamic range than human eyes do. For example, with the naked eye you can be inside a room which has a large window out of which you can see the sunny outside. Our eyes can easily view the lower-lit interior of the room and the much brighter outdoors at the same time.
However, if you try to take a picture of someone indoors in front of that same window, the window will either be washed out with excessive light, or the interior will be too dark. The camera cannot capture that large dynamic range of light like our eyes can.
Because of this, cameras are set for daytime (bright) exposures. This means it exposes frames more quickly because it expects a large amount of light, as there would be from bright objects in the day. Stars are relatively faint compared to this so the exposure is not long enough to capture the stars. If the camera was set up to be able to capture stars, then everything in the foreground would be overexposed and the pictures worthless.
Reply:Because planets are very bright and reflective. And stars are very dim. It's like standing under a bright street light and trying to photograph stars. The exposure is too short - you won't get enough light to see them. Which is why Hubble can spend 2 weeks on just ONE exposure to see something very dim.
Reply:That's because that's where the focus is on, nearby objects. The camera would have to be focuses to infinity to focus in on the stars.
Reply:If you looked out the window with the lights on you wouldn't see any stars either.
Here, the next time you wake up in the middle of the night open the top window and pull down the screen before turning on any lights. Then have someone turn on the lights without you looking at them. Do you see any stars?
The astronauts are outside remember?, last time I checked sunlight is brighter than lightbulbs.
Reply:The brightness of any foreground objects enter into the mix.
A bright one causes the iris to get smaller, therby diminishing the view of stars in the picture.
A perfect example is the photos of astronauts standing in the open on the moon. If the bright, sunlit surface not been so bright, then many stars could be seen by them and their camera.
Reply:The amount of light from the stars is very small.
In comparision, the sunlight reflected from those nearby objects
is very intense.
Reply:NIce question. stars seem like they are very close. but they are not. stars a billions of miles away from everything. it seems like they are so close to each other down from earth but its just because they shine VERRRY brightly. you dont see stars in a picture of outer space because they are so far away.
hope this helped!!
Reply:It depends on the exposure time. You can see fainter objects with larger integration time. Also, some pictures you see are reduced, in other words, nearby objects are erased, and only the star of interest is kept. For example, if an astronomer is studying a certain region of space, at a given distance, she will erase the nearby objects, so as to have a better visualization of the dynamics of the fainter objects that are at comparable distances.

My favorite colour: Liver Chestnut with a FLAXEN mane and tail...
Reply:In the Arabian breed, the very dark brown is called "black bay". It's a gorgeous color, especially with white markings and its almost black, but with a reddish sheen in it's flanks and on it's muzzle. I also love the dark dappled greys with white manes and tails. These are really striking. there are other colors, too many to mention. Many years ago, a wise horseman told me. "The prettiest horse color is on the horse with the best conformation and disposition". How true!
Reply:I think all horses are BEAUTIFUL! %26lt;3
One pony I know is a cute little chestnut with tiny white spots randomly on her body (she has some Ponys of America in her) She is adorable!
Most beautiful horse, I don't know... I agree with what you say, but I love chestnuts, bays, blacks, grays, and any other color basically!
Reply:I love all horses, but id have to say that my favorite is pure black with furry feet, like friesians.
Second runner up is chocolate browns with black mane and tails, with black legs too.
But all colorings put aside, their individual personalities is what makes them beautiful!
Reply:Personally, I would love to have a nice blue roan, and my least favorite color is sorrel. That said, I've yet to own a blue roan, and I can't count the number of sorrel horses I've had over the years. But, as they say, pretty is as pretty does. Best broke, easiest to get along with horse I've got on the place right now is a plain little sorrel mare.
Reply:black bunny- those are really cool! Have you read the book, Riding Lessons? It's by Sara Gruen. It's an AMAZING book also about 2 brindle horses.
I like all colors. It''s super hard to pick one. roans are cool, and black, like SUPER black with a white star.
Reply:yours is my favorite but they are all beautiful animals arent they ?
also sometimes i like all black or all white and sometimes clydesdales
Reply:I usually love jet blacks with white stockings and a white blaze . But the other day I saw a dapple grey with a big dark brown patch over its left eye that carried on down half its face - it was so random but I loved it !
Reply:Brindle!!! I've wanted that 'color' for YEARS!!!

Should I do fall cleanup of my perennials?
Should the following perennials be cut down and added to the mulch or should I leave the stalks with the seeds for the birds: goldenrod; purple coneflower; giant blue lobelia; hollycock; phlox; blazing star;rudbeckia; coreopsis; joepye weed. All have long stalks and have gone to seed. Are these seeds eaten by the birds or have they dispersed long before 4 foot snow piles. Should I cut them down to the ground and mulch or leave the stalks and just mulch heavy around the base of the plants. Winter residents are: chickadee; evening grosbeak; tufted titmouse; woodpeckers; some juncos; finches nuthatchs. Would these stalks harbor more insects and larvae or would they benefit the birds?
Should I do fall cleanup of my perennials?
perennials seed themselves in fall. I usually wait until just before the snow flies to cut them down. I have though waited till spring to do this. I believe it is up to you weather or not you want to do it now or later. If you wait till spring, just be warned they get more tangled and are therefore harder to clean up.
Reply:unless your trying to spread these plants you should have cut them down just before going to seed ....now you've got allot of weeding to do in the spring to keep them from being over crowded......my stuff is always mowed just before the end of summer except for the ones i want to fill in more......leaving stalks just leaves places for bugs....you should have a Lil patch of milkweed for the monarch butter flies to wrap up in though
Reply:The stalks might bring more larvae and bugs for the birds, and the stalks might also benefit for the birds.
Reply:This would be a personal preferance.
My front yard, I cut it down after save seeds I wanted to reuse.
The back I leave for Spring. Both areas I add chopped leaves (from lawnmower cutting) around base each fall.
Reply:yes

Twinkle, twinkle, like a star, does love blaze less from afar?
Not always... I had built up a wonderful myth around a man when he was far away. In my world, he was perfect. Then he came back, we got together, and my beautiful myth was shattered : ) Oh well...
Twinkle, twinkle, like a star, does love blaze less from afar?
Ooooh was it you who left the stone heads outside peoples doors? I wan't one!!
Reply:My friend Sherlock Holmes (or so he says he is), states these were left my a man whom was rather a Casanova when the husband was away, his wife and Casanova played the hidden answer in the riddle was your love loves you less when your away.

A seemingly contradictory statement that may nonetheless be true: the paradox that standing is more tiring than walking.
One exhibiting inexplicable or contradictory aspects: “The silence of midnight, to speak truly, though apparently a paradox, rung in my ears” (Mary Shelley).
An assertion that is essentially self-contradictory, though based on a valid deduction from acceptable premises.
A statement contrary to received opinion.

Has anyone in Houston ever heard of anything called BLAZE STAR?
It was something I saw on my bank statement but the bank can't tell me where or what this is.
Has anyone in Houston ever heard of anything called BLAZE STAR?
Well, Blaze StaRR was a Louisiana stripper that had an affair with Huey Long, the state's governor in the 50s, I believe. Sounds like it might be a porn site to me.
